Centennial Golfer Wins 5A State Title; Titans Finish Second in State
A fantastic year for Frisco ISD golf was topped off Tuesday when Centennial’s Tarini Bhoga won the 5A girls state championship and her team nearly won the state title. Bhoga won the state title by two strokes, shooting a two-round total of 8-under 136 at Legacy Hills Golf Course in Georgetown. In the team competition, Centennial and San Antonio Alamo Heights were well in front of the rest of the field, with Alamo Heights (601 stroke total) nipping Centennial (605).
"Bhoga led after Monday’s first round, and on Tuesday she stayed solid, even after Dresden Bounds of Comal Pieper briefly took the lead in the middle of the round. Bhoga was rock solid on the final nine holes to earn the championship in her final match with Centennial."
"The senior, who said she focused Tuesday on 'keeping a good mindset,' will be playing college golf at UT-Arlington. 'Hopefully this win is one of many,' she said. 'I hope this is a good start to where my game is going in college.'"
"The strong team finish by Centennial also added to Bhoga’s happiness. The Titans’ Alisha Rametra finished in a tie for ninth with two other Frisco ISD golfers, Independence’s Megan Lee and Anika Singh. The other team members of Centennial’s state runner-up team are Lisa Zhang, Kennedy Brandstetter, and Gracie Kent. Wakeland finished 12th in the 5A team standings."

"The Class 4A girls state tournament was at a different location: Legends Golf Course in Kingsland. The Panthers finished fifth in 4A, led by Juju Peterson, who was 11th in the 4A individual standings."
