The city of McKinney announced that all residents who pay for trash and recycling services will be receiving new carts between May 28 and July 19.

The new carts, a 95-gallon dark gray trash and a 95-gallon navy blue recycling cart, will be delivered to pick-up locations on customers’ collection days between May 28 and July 19. Each household will receive the amounts of carts that they currently pay for on their monthly bill.

When residents receive their new carts, the old carts will be removed on the same day, after trash and recycling have been picked up. If they are not picked up that same day, residents are advised to continue using the old carts on collection days until they are removed.

Notifications about the cart switch and other details are also being sent to local Homeowners Associations.

Additional information and FAQ’s can be found on the city website. For questions or concerns, resident can contact the city at Contact-SolidWaste@McKinneyTexas.org and use the subject line "NEW CART QUESTION" or call the City of McKinney Environmental Services at 972-547-7385.
